A two-day international convention: registration to badge, run on Fonix.
Our most recent project was a two-day international technology convention at one of Muscat’s main venues, with a professional audience of specialists, exhibitors and government entities. The system had to be fast, bilingual and hold up to expert scrutiny.
Branded registration portal
A dedicated event site in English and Arabic with a live countdown, email verification by one-time code, and a “find my registration” path so people could return to their status or download their badge.
Profiles for every role
Separate registration journeys for visitors, exhibitors and organizers, each with its own fields, approval rules and badge type, all managed from one organizer workspace.
QR badges by email
Approved participants received a confirmation with a personal QR badge they could keep on their phone or print, with duplicate checks so nobody received two badges or two emails.
Invitations that could be tracked
The organizer sent invitations from its own mailing list through a tracked registration link, and Fonix ran follow-up and reminder campaigns by email and WhatsApp.
Self check-in kiosks
We brought self check-in kiosks to the entrance: guests scanned their QR, confirmed “Is this you?”, and their badge printed on pre-printed branded cards. No queue at a desk and no typing names.
Built not to stop
Registration was monitored around the clock with a live backup copy, the kiosks ran on their own network with an emergency fallback connection, and every device was managed remotely during the event.

We bring self check-in kiosks to your venue. Each kiosk has a touchscreen, a camera and a thermal badge printer, and greets every guest with an animated AI host face in English or Arabic. It is connected to the same Fonix event that handled the registration. Try it below with your own event name.

Frequently asked questions
How early should we start before the event?
For our last convention, registration opened about three weeks before the doors. Contact us as early as you can so there is time to agree the registration types, badge design and invitation plan, but a shorter timeline is often possible.
Do we need our own kiosks or printers?
No. We bring the self check-in kiosks and badge printers, install them at your venue and run them with you on the event days.
Can guests register in Arabic?
Yes. The registration site, emails and kiosk screens can run in English and Arabic, including right-to-left layout.
What happens if the internet connection drops at the venue?
Our kiosks run on their own local network with an emergency backup connection. We plan the network for each venue with you before the event.
Who owns the registration data?
You do. Participant data is kept in your Fonix workspace and used only to run your event and the follow-up you approve.
Is the calculator price final?
It is an estimate. We confirm the final price in a written proposal based on your date, venue, attendance and the options you choose.
