Platform Privacy Policy
Effective: October 1, 2026
This Platform Privacy Policy explains how the Fonix application at app.myfonix.com (the "Platform") handles personal data, including data received from Meta Platforms through the WhatsApp Business Platform. The Platform is operated by Digital Healthcare Advisers L.L.C-FZ, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the data described here. Our separate website Privacy Policy covers visitors to myfonix.com.
Who this policy covers
Fonix is a business operations platform. Businesses that use Fonix ("customers") can connect their own WhatsApp Business number so that their team can read and answer customer conversations in the Fonix inbox. This policy covers the customer's authorized users and the people who exchange WhatsApp messages with a connected business ("contacts").
Data we receive from Meta (WhatsApp Business Platform)
When a business connects its WhatsApp Business number to Fonix through Meta's official signup flow, Meta makes the following data available to us on the business's behalf:
- Account details: the WhatsApp Business Account ID, phone number ID, display phone number, verified business name and connection status of the number.
- Messages: messages that contacts send to the business, messages the business sends from Fonix and, where the business keeps using the WhatsApp Business app alongside Fonix, copies of messages the business sends from that app. This includes message content, the contact's WhatsApp phone number and profile name, timestamps and delivery status (sent, delivered, read). Media is stored as a reference; Fonix does not currently download media files.
- Contacts and chat history (optional): when a business connects its existing WhatsApp Business app number, Meta can share the business's WhatsApp contacts and, only if the business chooses to share it in WhatsApp, recent chat history. The business can decline history sharing.
- Access credentials: the access token that lets Fonix call the WhatsApp Business Platform for that business. Tokens are kept in protected server configuration, not in the application database, and are never shown to users.
How we use this data
- To show each business its own WhatsApp conversations in the Fonix inbox and keep them in step with the WhatsApp Business app.
- To send replies that the business's authorized team members write and send from Fonix.
- To confirm that the correct number is connected and to show its connection status to the business.
- To keep the Platform secure, prevent abuse and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell Platform Data, use it for advertising, or combine it with data from other businesses. We do not send WhatsApp message content to AI or analytics providers. Contacts and chat history imported from the WhatsApp Business app are not turned into sales leads automatically.
Who can access the data
Data from a connected number is visible only to the users that the business authorizes in its own Fonix workspace, and to our staff where needed to operate and support the Platform. The Platform runs on servers operated by us. Network traffic to the Platform passes through Cloudflare, Inc., which provides secure connectivity and protection for our services. We disclose data to public authorities only where required by applicable law.
Retention and deletion
We keep data received from Meta only for as long as it is needed to provide Fonix to the business that connected the number, in line with Meta's Platform Terms. We delete it when it is no longer needed for that purpose, when the business ends its use of Fonix or asks us to delete it, when a contact's deletion request is verified, or when Meta requires us to. A business can disconnect its number at any time; disconnecting stops new data from reaching Fonix. See our Data Deletion Instructions for how to ask us to delete data.
Security
Connections to the Platform are encrypted. Webhook deliveries from Meta are verified using Meta's signature before they are accepted. Access inside Fonix is restricted by user roles within each business's workspace.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, or to object to its use. Contacts of a business can also make requests to that business directly. To make a request to us, email support@myfonix.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above reflects the most recent revision.
